KARL STORZ is seeking a dynamic and results-driven OR1 Production Supervisor to lead and collaborate with a skilled team of Assembly, Quality Control Technicians, and Specialists in the production of all OR1 portfolio products. The Supervisor will oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety while supporting new product introductions, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor production teams, ensuring adherence to operational strategies, safety protocols, and company goals.
  • Oversee daily production schedules, work assignments, and resource allocation for optimal efficiency.
  • Maintain high-quality standards through hands-on engagement and monitoring product performance testing.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ESD, and FDA Quality System Regulations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics, and Quality Assurance on troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Optimize workflows, minimize downtime, and implement lean manufacturing practices for cost efficiency.
  • Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities for team members.

 

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or industrial operations.
  • At least 2 years in a lead role.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP and MS Office software.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA QSR (21 CFR Part 820), ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Mechanical and electronic assembly expertise; ability to read and follow mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing practices; familiarity with production management and problem-solving strategies.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen events, and visual management.
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as Just-in-Time (JIT).
