About the Role

 

KARL STORZ is seeking a strategic and customer-focused OR1 Global Product Manager  to lead the global product portfolio for our Premium Integration Systems. In this high-impact role, you will drive product strategy, lifecycle management, and commercial success for innovative operating room integration solutions used by healthcare providers worldwide.

As a key member of the Global OR1 Product Management team, you will work cross-functionally with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Purchasing, and global stakeholders to translate customer needs into product innovation. You will play a critical role in defining product roadmaps, supporting product launches, and ensuring our solutions continue to meet evolving market and customer demands.

 

What You'll Do

 

Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Lead the lifecycle management of Premium Integration products from concept through launch and sustainment.
  • Define product requirements and contribute to the global product roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Gather market intelligence and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and drive innovation.
  • Analyze product performance, market trends, and competitor activity to improve revenue, margin, and market share.
  • Serve as the product expert and central point of coordination across engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and marketing teams.

Commercial & Customer Engagement

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to support product launches, customer demonstrations, and field activities.
  • Build relationships with customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and drive adoption.
  • Support product-related inquiries, issue resolution, and ongoing portfolio optimization.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Facilitate collaboration between global development teams and commercial leaders to ensure successful product execution.
  • Translate customer and market needs into technical requirements for development teams.
  • Support usability testing, beta programs, and validation activities to ensure high-quality product delivery.

Regulatory & Quality Support

  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and Quality teams to support global product approvals and compliance requirements.
  • Address quality, safety, and legal considerations throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Assist with intellectual property and patent-related activities as needed.

 

What You Bring

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of product management or related experience, preferably within the medical device industry.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes and lifecycle management.
  • Experience working with medical technology products and regulated environments.
  • Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and distributed computing concepts.
  • Familiarity with FDA/MDR regulatory requirements and technical standards.
  • Experience gathering and managing product requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional, global teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master's degree, preferably in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of product management experience in medical devices.
  • Experience with healthcare systems, hospital workflows, or operating room technologies.
  • Background in systems engineering or technically complex products.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of SAP, MS Project, and requirements management tools.
  • Demonstrated global business acumen and intercultural collaboration skills.
