We're seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer II to lead the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical and opto-mechanical systems for advanced medical devices. This role blends innovation, precision engineering, and cross-functional leadership in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead mechanical design for new products from concept to production
- Represent mechanical engineering on cross-functional project teams
- Perform FEA, CFD, tolerance analysis, and empirical validation
- Direct Mechanical Designers and review models/drawings for compliance and quality
- Support R&D efforts in opto/electro/mechanical and materials technologies
- Provide sustaining engineering support for existing product lines
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Test Engineers to ensure seamless product integration
- Contribute to process improvements and mentor junior team members
What You Bring
- BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design (medical devices preferred)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (including surfacing, sheet metal, CircuitWorks)
- Strong grasp of FEA, CFD, tolerance studies, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Familiarity with optical design principles and packaging of electronics
- Experience with SAP, ECTR, and photorealistic rendering tools (KeyShot/SW Visualize)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and medical device regulations (FDA, ISO13485)
- Excellent communication, time management, and team collaboration skills
