Service Repair Processor
Role Summary The Service Repair Processor is responsible for the full repair lifecycle of medical camera systems — from incoming inspection and diagnosis through final testing — working with camera control units (CCUs), camera heads, adapters, and video capture devices. This role requires a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional who can accurately document repairs, troubleshoot complex issues at the sub-assembly level, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that elevate product and service quality.
Key Responsibilities Repair & Technical Operations
- Perform incoming inspection, diagnosis, repair, and final testing of medical cameras and optical/mechanical devices using standard video test equipment.
- Troubleshoot and replace components at the sub-assembly level, including PWBs, head cables, power supplies, optical/mechanical components, DVD drives, and optical cleaning.
- Execute software installations and address a variety of field-returned defects.
- Identify and implement engineering changes per defined service rework instructions.
Documentation & Systems
- Generate accurate repair documentation in SAP, including written diagnoses, parts lists, defect codes, and camera tracking records.
- Perform SAP transactions including data entry, stock transfers, and spare parts status updates.
- Review bills of materials, engineering changes, and repair upgrade procedures via SAP.
- Analyze repair history in SAP to support thorough customer diagnoses and surface improvement opportunities for the business.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at elevating product and service quality.
Experience & Education Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of experience in electronics, optical/mechanical assembly, or a related technical field.
- Inspection or final test experience highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies Technical Skills
- Proficiency with video test equipment such as oscilloscopes and vectorscopes.
- Ability to follow assembly and rework instructions, including component-level rework.
- Basic soldering skills.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP/database systems a plus.
Core Skills
- Analytical ability to troubleshoot to the sub-assembly level and escalate quality concerns appropriately.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency including data entry and general use.
- Working knowledge of medical device quality regulations and standards (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 9001) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for working with small hand tools.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
Additional Requirements
- Adherence to company quality and safety requirements.
- All required training is provided, including OSHA-mandated programs (Injury & Illness Prevention, Hazard Communications, Bloodborne Pathogen) and company-specific quality system and job training.
