About the Role:

As a CNC Machining/Manufacturing Engineer at KARL STORZ, you’ll provide hands-on engineering support to our Franklin facility, focusing on continuous improvement, process implementation, and advanced troubleshooting. This role will also involve the integration of new products, processes, and equipment—fostering growth in an innovative, high-tech manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with R&D, Operations, and Quality teams to launch and maintain efficient, effective manufacturing processes.
  • Design and qualify tooling, fixtures, and equipment for optimal machining.
  • Troubleshoot, validate, and optimize existing processes and equipment.
  • Manage insourcing new parts and equipment selection/qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Improve product line layout, flow, and quality to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives and author Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: BS in a Technical or Engineering discipline.
  • Experience: Strong background in CNC machining process development, automation, and programming.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Six Sigma, Kaizen, DMAIC, tooling and fixture design, SolidWorks, SPC, GD&T, and process yield improvement analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with international teams and an openness to travel.
  • Familiarity with cobot integration, machine monitoring, and learning systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and HMI/SCADA.
  • Background in Quality Control and inspection processes.
