About the Role
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the integrity of our financial operations. This position is responsible for key month-end and year-end close activities, financial analysis, and reporting, while also helping modernize and improve accounting processes within a strong internal controls environment.
This role goes beyond traditional accounting responsibilities. You’ll help transform financial processes, identify efficiencies, and partner with business teams to streamline end-to-end workflows that support a growing, innovation-driven organization.

What You’ll Do
Financial Close & Reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end and year-end close activities
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Draft clear, high-quality financial commentary and explanations of account activity
- Reconcile intercompany balances with subsidiaries
- Prepare recurring reports and deliverables for internal stakeholders
Accounting Analysis & Technical Support
- Trace transactions through SAP to identify and resolve issues
- Clearly explain complex transactions using T-accounts and accounting logic
- Conduct GAAP research and prepare technical accounting position papers
- Prepare supporting documentation for external auditors
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Review current accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Implement enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
- Create documentation and standard operating procedures for accounting activities
- Leverage technology and analytical tools to increase productivity and insight
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Staff Accountants
- Lead small projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Facilitate group training sessions and knowledge sharing across the accounting team
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar, Master’s a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (including 2+ years in public accounting preferred)
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and general ledger transactions
- Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and implement process improvements
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Preferred
- Experience with SAP
- Audit experience
- Tableau or data visualization experience
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools that improve financial analysis and efficiency
