Supplier Quality Engineer III
Location: Charlton, MA | Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer III to serve as a technical leader in supplier development, qualification, and performance improvement. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and global suppliers to ensure robust processes, compliant products, and continuous improvement within a Lean manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead supplier identification, qualification, certification, and ongoing performance improvement.
- Partner with key suppliers to implement SPC and other statistical tools to ensure stable, capable processes.
- Drive supplier validation and re-validation activities for new or changed processes and products.
- Conduct supplier system, process, and product audits to support compliance and continual improvement.
- Analyze quality and performance trends from NPI through service; lead root cause and corrective actions.
- Support MRB activities, nonconforming material disposition, and failure investigations.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Manufacturing to implement Lean and supply chain improvements.
- Contribute to cross-functional continuous improvement teams and internal process assessments.
What You Bring
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, or related field (Electrical Engineering preferred) with 4–8 years of manufacturing experience; or
- Master’s degree with 3–6 years of manufacturing experience; or
- ASQ Quality Engineer or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) certification in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong knowledge of medical device quality systems (FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 9001).
- Expertise in GD&T with the ability to clearly explain concepts to suppliers.
- Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and supply chain management.
- Hands-on experience with SPC, DOE, pFMEA, MSA, and other statistical tools.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use standard mechanical and electronic measurement equipment.
- Proven ability to lead projects, manage multiple priorities, and build consensus across teams.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% annually.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5–8 years of manufacturing experience (Bachelor’s) or 4–6 years (Master’s).
- ASQ certification; advanced experience with GD&T and statistical methods.
- Experience leading supplier-related projects, time studies, and line balancing.
- Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM and tools such as Jira, Mural, or Atlassian.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during audits and supplier visits.
