KARL STORZ is seeking a Senior Manager, Asset Engineering & Facility Maintenance to oversee critical infrastructure operations across multiple sites. This is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, compliance, and efficiency of all plant utilities, systems, and contracted services (e.g., HVAC, cleaning, security, bulk gas).
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee plant maintenance, facility systems, cleanroom environments, and capital improvement projects
- Manage vendor contracts and ensure regulatory compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, OSHA, and environmental regulations
- Lead preventive/predictive maintenance programs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Supervise and develop technical staff while managing a multi-million-dollar facilities budget
- Lead emergency preparedness and ensure cleanroom certification, building security, and safe working conditions
- Support cross-functional operations, engineering, and EHS priorities
What you’ll need to be considered:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
- 8+ years’ experience in a regulated environment (medical device or healthcare ideal)
- 2+ years’ experience managing teams, budgets, and capital projects
- Strong knowledge of safety codes, facility engineering systems, and contract/vendor management
- Engineering (Mech and Elec) of Facilities systems and infrastructure
- Safety background – building codes, OSHA regs, Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and best practices
- Strong Operations, Finance and Cap Ex knowledge to include understanding and working with Purchasing systems, sourcing quotes, reconciling budgets and vendor management
- Proven Project Management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge and experience to apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement principles a plus.
- Understanding of FDA and ISO standards.
- Intermediate to advanced level MS Office skills desired.
Highly effective interpersonal skills, problem solving abilities and advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working with computer-based manufacturing systems, SAP preferred.
- Experience commissioning, monitoring and maintaining certified cleanroom environments (ISO 8)
