KARL STORZ U.S. is recruiting for a Development Engineer II for our Charlton, MA location. In this role you will be responsible for the design, development, and lifecycle management of innovative products within the flexible endoscope portfolio, supporting the Optical Mechanical Engineering Division. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive new product development and product upgrades, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company goals.

What you will be doing:

Lead the design and development of new products and upgrades for flexible endoscopes and other KARL STORZ products.

Create engineering documentation, prototypes, and testing protocols to meet specifications and regulatory requirements.

Integrate new technologies to enhance performance, usability, and manufacturability.

Troubleshoot technical issues and lead root cause analysis for field or manufacturing challenges.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Ensure technical accuracy and compliance of product designs with regulatory standards

Take ownership of tasks and manage project timelines, quality, and budgets

Travel as needed (up to 5%) for business purposes
What you'll need to be considered:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).

Minimum 3 years of design or product engineering experience, preferably in a regulated environment.

Expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience in creating mechanical design packages, including CAD models, drawings, and testing reports.

Ability to use microscopes, small hand tools, and advanced testing equipment.

Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Ability to communicate effectively with global teams and diverse stakeholders.
Things that will make you stand out:

Experience in medical product development or highly regulated industries.

Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, statistical analysis (Minitab), and problem-solving methodologies.

Experience with flexible endoscopes or minimally invasive medical devices.

Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and global development processes.
