About the Role

We are seeking a Product Evaluation Operator II to join our team on 2nd shift (Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM).

 

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating KARL STORZ equipment, instruments, and software to determine the appropriate product disposition, including return to inventory, repair, replacement, downgrade, upgrade, or scrap. You will leverage advanced SAP and system expertise, strong product knowledge, and sound judgment to manage complex evaluations that directly impact inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

 

As the final quality checkpoint before products are returned to service or shipped to customers, the Product Evaluation Operator II plays a critical role in ensuring product safety, functionality, and compliance in a highly regulated medical device environment.

 

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate medical devices, instruments, equipment, and software to determine the appropriate disposition based on functionality, condition, cosmetic standards, product history, and established work instructions.
  • Execute complex SAP transactions and related system activities to support inventory returns, repairs, replacements, upgrades, downgrades, and scrap decisions while maintaining documentation accuracy and traceability.
  • Independently resolve routine process and transaction issues and escalate non-standard situations when appropriate.
  • Review product configurations, completeness, condition, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate evaluation and disposition decisions.
  • Identify product discrepancies, quality concerns, damaged conditions, or documentation gaps and communicate findings to the appropriate support teams.
  • Support Global KSRAPS and FCO processes while maintaining productivity, quality, and performance expectations.
  • Serve as a resource for team members by providing peer training, coaching, and process guidance.
  • Assist in the creation, review, maintenance, and improvement of work instructions, visual aids, and process documentation.
  • Participate in LEAN initiatives, 6S activities, audits, visual management programs, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Complete advanced cross-training in additional product lines, operational functions, and value streams as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed, including situations requiring minimal notice.

 

What You Bring

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of KARL STORZ experience or relevant experience in logistics, warehouse operations, manufacturing, returns processing, or a similar operational environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using SAP or comparable ERP systems with the ability to execute advanced transactions, research product history, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, process documentation, and product disposition requirements.
  • Strong technical aptitude and product evaluation skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow controlled processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, or other regulated environment.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment within established guidelines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Dependable attendance, adaptability, and punctuality.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in medical device, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, warehouse, service, or distribution operations.
  • Experience in FDA, ISO, or other regulated environments with exposure to quality systems, traceability requirements, and controlled documentation.
  • Additional technical, systems, process, or operational certifications and training.
  • Experience supporting audits, employee training, work instruction updates, process standardization, or continuous improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, and packing activities throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift 30 to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Occasionally push or pull carts weighing up to 320 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to use a warehouse ladder and manual pallet jack.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain positive, professional working relationships with colleagues across the organization.
