About the Role
As a Product Evaluation Operator II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and proper disposition of KARL STORZ medical devices, instruments, equipment, and software. Acting as the final quality checkpoint before products are returned to inventory, repaired, replaced, downgraded, or scrapped, you will use technical expertise, product knowledge, and SAP system proficiency to make accurate evaluation decisions that directly impact inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to independently evaluate complex product conditions while working within established quality and compliance standards in a regulated medical device environment.
This is a fully onsite position with a Monday through Friday schedule of 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate medical devices, instruments, equipment, and software to determine appropriate disposition based on functionality, cosmetic condition, completeness, system history, and established work instructions.
- Execute SAP and related system transactions to support inventory returns, repairs, replacements, upgrades, downgrades, and scrap decisions while maintaining accurate documentation and traceability.
- Review product configurations, documentation, and condition to ensure evaluation decisions meet quality, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Identify discrepancies, damage trends, documentation gaps, and nonconforming conditions, escalating higher-risk situations when appropriate.
- Support FCO and KSRAPS program activities while meeting departmental productivity, accuracy, and quality expectations.
- Provide peer training, coaching, and process guidance to support operational consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to work instruction updates, visual aids, audit readiness efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN and 6S principles.
- Cross-train in additional product lines and operational functions to support business needs and workforce flexibility.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of KARL STORZ experience or relevant experience in logistics, warehouse operations, manufacturing, returns processing, or a similar operational environment.
- Experience using SAP or a comparable ERP system to manage transactions, research product history, and maintain accurate records.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to evaluate product condition, functionality, and disposition requirements with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience working in a regulated environment with quality, traceability, and documentation requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret work instructions, process documentation, and quality requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, reliability, and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment while working independently.
Nice to Have
- 3+ years of experience in medical device, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, service, warehouse, or distribution operations.
- Experience working within FDA, ISO, or other regulated quality systems.
- Experience supporting audits, process standardization, work instruction development, or employee training.
- Additional technical certifications, systems training, or continuous improvement experience.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and material handling activities.
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally lift 30 to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Occasionally push or pull carts and equipment weighing up to 320 pounds on casters with assistance.
- Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and use a warehouse ladder.
- Ability to use standard office and warehouse equipment.
