Job Purpose and Job Duties:
The Logistic Center Warehouse Lead is a hands on team leader that shares the vision and strategy of the team Supervisor with the team and works along with them to achieve their goals.
This position is responsible for guiding and supporting workflow throughout the department. Responsibilities include running daily reports, training, and communicating with internal and external customers, as well as performing all functions within the department.
- Execute daily workflow through the department.
- Participate in LC daily labor planning.
- Support compliance and implementation of all process improvements with internal and external departments.
- Assist with training associates and maintaining the Training Matrix.
- Coordinate department idea board
- Assist in department projects as delegated by the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Research and resolve open inventory discrepancies.
- Investigate open aging transfer orders.
- Contribute to compliance with the department audit program.
- Participate in creation and processing of work instructions.
- Assist in implementing all LEAN/Continuous Improvement initiatives with a high level of engagement.
These activities include:
- 5S
- Idea Board
- Audits
- Visual Control Systems
- Support Quality Management System.
- Support and initiate continuous improvement ideas to improve efficiency, service levels and reduce waste.
- Assist with the training responsibilities of associates.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The performance of this position is measured by achieving targets related to the following KPIs (others may be added as identified):
- VOC / Idea board alignment and contributions
- Audit quality level
- SLAs
- Daily carry over WIP
Minimum Knowledge, Education and Skill Requirements:
Required:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Demonstrates leadership capabilities
- Ability to lead a team oriented culture in a continuous improvement environment
- Exemplifies a positive attitude and motivates others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Advanced SAP experience
- Effective communicator with the ability to interact with various levels within the organization
- High attention to detail
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or experience in a related field
- Experience or willingness to be trained on warehouse inventory movement power equipment
- Personnel management experience strongly desired
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred with an advanced skill level in Excel
Essential Function:
- Must be able to maintain productive working relationships and treat fellow employees with respect.
- External communication: KARL STORZ colleagues as required.
- Physical requirement/Demands: Position requires constant and varying degrees of movement including standing, sitting, bending, walking, reaching, grabbing, and packing, lifting, pulling, and pushing. Must be able to frequently lift up to 30lbs. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 100lbs with assistance Must be able to frequently use a warehouse ladder for reaching shelves. Must be able to operate a pallet jack.
