Job Purpose and Job Duties
The Logistics Center Product Evaluation Lead is a hands on team leader that shares the vision and strategy of the team Supervisor with the team and works along with them to achieve their goals.
This position is responsible for guiding and supporting workflow throughout the department. Responsibilities include running daily reports, training, and communicating with internal and external customers, as well as performing all functions within the department.
- Execute daily workflow through the department.
- Complete daily standard work.
- Participate in LC daily labor planning.
- Support compliance and implementation of all process improvements with internal and external departments.
- Assist with training associates
- Assist in department projects as delegated by the Product Evaluation Supervisor.
- Perform functional and cosmetic evaluation of Karl Storz equipment
- Assist in implementing all LEAN/Continuous Improvement initiatives with a high level of engagement. These activities include:
o 5S
o Idea Board
o Audits
o Visual Control Systems
o VOC
- Run reports to support and prioritize daily workflow through the department to help maintain FIFO and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain current equipment software files and assist in coordinate high volume software upgrades (Electro-Mechanical).
- Support complaint investigation and collaborate with complaint handling team.
- Collaborate with Logistics Management, peers, and cross functional team members to develop knowledge and skills.
- Perform all functions within the department.
- Contribute to compliance with the department audit program.
- Participate in creation and processing of work instructions.
- Support our Quality Management System.
- Support and initiate continuous improvement ideas to improve efficiency, service levels and reduce waste.
- Effective timely communication with department team members, peers throughout the LC, and other internal customers.
- Coordinate expedite requests.
- Communicate Bill of Material discrepancies with business partners.
- Process reinspects for non-conforming product.
- Subject Matter Expert on Karl Storz equipment form and functionality.
- Serve as the backup to the supervisor with work allocation and necessary meetings.
- Cross-train internally with other Product Evaluation Lead, as well as with upstream and downstream partners.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed with minimal notice.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The performance of this position is measured by achieving targets related to the following KPIs (others may be added as identified):
o VOC / Idea board alignment and contributions
o Audit quality level
o SLAs
o Daily carry over WIP
o Safety inspections
Minimum Knowledge, Education and Skill Requirements
Required
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrates leadership capabilities.
- Personnel management experience strongly desired
- Ability to lead a team-oriented culture in a continuous improvement environment.
- Exemplifies a positive attitude and motivates others.
- Knowledge or aptitude in Microsoft Office.
- Effective communicator with the ability to interact with various levels throughout the organization.
- High attention to detail.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or experience in a related field
- Personnel management experience strongly desired
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred with an advanced skill level in Excel
- SAP experience / WMS / TS
- Experience in evaluation/inspection/assembly of medical equipment or similar items
- Ability to read technical documents
- Experience working with electro-mechanical items (Electro-Mechanical Lead).
- Experience working with medical instrumentation (Hand Instrument Lead).

Physical Requirements
- Position requires constant and varying degrees of movement including standing, sitting, bending, walking, reaching, grabbing, and packing, lifting, pulling, and pushing.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 25lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally lift between 30-75lbs as needed with assistance.
- Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 320lbs on casters with assistance.
- Must be able to occasionally use a warehouse ladder for reaching shelves.
- Must be able to operate a manual pallet jack.
- Ability to use standard office equipment (computers, copiers, etc.)
