About the Role

The Buyer Planner is responsible for Finished Goods inventory management and supply planning activities for an assigned portfolio of products, most of which are sourced from KARL STORZ manufacturing sites. This mid-level Supply Planning role is focused on ensuring the Right Product is in the Right Place, at the Right Time, at the Right Cost, from the Right Supplier — managing all supply planning activities to maintain appropriate stock coverage levels that deliver the highest level of customer service while meeting the Company's inventory priorities and goals.

This role is based in our Auburn, MA facility.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Demand Planning, Marketing, and Product Management to develop demand and supply plans
  • Create purchase orders with suppliers, factoring in established order-to-delivery lead times, volume discounts, and effective order handling quantities
  • Verify supplier acknowledgment of orders, including their ability to deliver as requested and at the price and terms listed on the PO
  • Communicate with suppliers to expedite or de-expedite order deliveries as demand patterns shift
  • Collaborate with Transportation and Warehouse Inbound teams to resolve transportation delays, shipment errors, and receiving discrepancies
  • Work with Quality on non-conforming product and "First Article" inspections
  • Support Accounts Payable in researching and resolving invoice discrepancies
  • Communicate with Marketing and Product Management on product availability issues and lifecycle management
  • Partner with Customer Service to resolve sales order entry errors
  • Follow FDA Rules, Regulations, and Guidance for 21CFR820 as it applies to purchasing and related activities, and support the Quality Management System
  • Identify and initiate continuous improvement ideas to boost efficiency, improve service levels, and reduce waste

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; in lieu of a degree, 8 years of directly related work experience is required
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience with direct or transferable skills
  • Strong computer and systems skills
  • Solid analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and math skills
  • Above-average written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility in managing changing priorities and work situations
  • Strong multicultural, cross-functional communication skills, along with financial and business acumen
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of related experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with an advanced skill level in Excel, is a plus
  • Familiarity with Material Resource Planning systems and SAP experience is a plus
