Executive Director Requirements Engineering and Verification (REV) (m/f/d)

Your tasks:
  • Owns and leads the Requirements Engineering and Verification disciplines for KARL STORZ globally, the disciplines include:
    • Systems Engineering: The creation and management of device and system requirements based on customer needs
    • Systems Verification: The development and execution of tests to verify device and system requirements
    • Product Usability and Design: Responsible globally for KARL STORZ device and system industrial design and usability
    • Product Security: Responsibly globally for the security of KARL STORZ devices and systems
  • Establish effectivity and efficiency of the new REV function, which has been defined by combining different disciplines from previous organization for strengthening the upper levels of the “V Model”
  • Get acceptance and excellent collaboration within GIM and beyond.
    Maximizing the REV disciplines competences, skills and capacities of all direct reports involved in product development projects as needed to fulfill product portfolio roadmaps
  • Strengthen and grow all REV technical, tools and process synergies globally within the REV area of responsibilities: Systems Engineering, Systems Verification, Product Usability, Product Security
  • Build global trust and efficiencies through collaboration with other KARL STORZ Centers of Excellence (CoEs), departments and business partners
    Relentlessly improve REV CoEs processes and systems through lean methods and Value Stream Mapping including all disciplines in REV
  • Cultivate and grow a culture of scalable and reusable device and system architectures across the KARL STORZ product portfolio
  • Inspire and empower REV CoE team members to create innovative KARL STORZ surgical solutions for the world of minimally evasive surgery
  • Ensure high quality and compliant KARL STORZ surgical solutions through REV CoEs adherence to the KALR STORZ Quality System and collaboration with regulatory business partners
 
Your profile:
  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in an engineering-based discipline such as Systems Engineering, electronics, software or mechanical
  • 7-10 years’ experience in developing and verifying complex devices and system of devices with a focus on requirements engineering
  • 7-10 years’ experience managing large globally distributed technically diverse teams
  • Experience in  Engineering and management processes and tools (e.g. DOORS, PTC, etc.) that show trackability from customer need to verified result
  • Working knowledge of Product Security and Usability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills, accountability and enabler in empowerment
  • Fluent speaking, reading and writing of German and English
